Police continue to appeal following Tunbridge Wells assault

Investigators are asking motorists to check dashcam footage after a woman was assaulted in Tunbridge Wells.

The incident is reported to have happened at 7.30 pm on Saturday 16 October 2021 in Major York’s Road, Tunbridge Wells.

The victim, a woman in her forties, was walking alone from Sainsbury's supermarket in the direction of the A264, Langton Road.

Assault

As she was speaking to a friend on the phone it is alleged a young man approached and assaulted her. The victim shouted for help and members of the public came to her assistance.

The victim went to a local hospital where she received medical attention before being discharged.

The suspect is described as being in his late teens and wearing a dark blue baseball cap and a tracksuit.

Detective Inspector Adam Marshall said:
‘Our officers are continuing to make enquiries and are examining CCTV footage around the location of the incident.
‘We are urging motorists with dashcams who were in the area at the time to check if they have footage that may assist the investigation.
'Officers are particularly keen to receive dashcam footage from those roads that cross Tunbridge Wells Common or run alongside it.
'Witnesses who saw the incident or anybody acting suspiciously in the area should also call the appeal line.'
