Tunbridge Wells Proclamation Reading

Spectators gathered in Tunbridge Wells under blue skies in front of the war memorial statue of a soldier. Just after 3pm, the mayor, Godfrey Bland, in his ceremonial robes made this announcement.

The official readings of the Proclamation marking the accession of King Charles 3^rd to the throne have been read this afternoon at Tonbridge Castle and in Tunbridge Wells.
