Tunbridge Wells Proclamation Reading

Spectators gathered in Tunbridge Wells under blue skies in front of the war memorial statue of a soldier. Just after 3pm, the mayor, Godfrey Bland, in his ceremonial robes made this announcement.

The official readings of the Proclamation marking the accession of King Charles 3rd to the throne have been read this afternoon at Tonbridge Castle and in Tunbridge Wells.
