Covid rates across Kent have dropped week on week, with some hot spots. Numbers are down in both Tonbridge & Malling and Tunbridge Wells, however, continue to rise in Sevenoaks. Cases in Sevenoaks are up by 12.4 per 100,000 population, to 399.2.

As part of a national campaign, Police in West Kent will be carrying out road checks to ensure that motorists have valid car insurance. Cars may be seized and risk being crushed and the driver issued with sox points on their licence and a £300 fine.

Pupils at Hilden Grange school have raised just short of £12,000 for the Ewelina London children’s healthcare foundation based at Guys’s and St. Thomas’ hospital in London. The school says that the funds raised will make a real contribution to the vital work.

Police are visiting the homes of elderly residents on Tonbridge, as part of a campaign against increases in fraud and scams. The visits include time spent with residents of retirement homes and assigned living properties, to help locals to identify phone calls from scammers and fraudsters.

I local sport and Tonbridge Angels are looking forward to the publication of a new government report on football. The Angels are hoping the report will recommend reform in to ownership and the fitness of directors, for the wider game. The Angels are a fully supporter-owned club.
