The Friends of Calverley Park held their 10th AGM on Saturday and failed to elect a chairman. Jim Kedge, who has been chairman twice had said at the previous AGM that he would be standing down, yet nobody has come forward.

A spokesperson for the Friends, which is a charity, told West Kent Radio that the committee and trustees would work to find a new chair and continue existing projects due to end in the spring and summer of 2022. The hope is that someone will step forward to chair the organisation.


The annual poppy appeal returns to West Kent this year, with its regular street collections. In Tonbridge, the local poppy legion stand at Sainsbury, is accepting both cash and cards.


A new bus service will soon be running between Sevenoaks and Bluewater. Arriva has withdrawn from the route, with a new provider, Redroute Buses taking over from today.


The deadline for secondary school application for September 2022, closes at midnight tonight. The primary and junior school window opens on Friday. 


In weekend sport, in hockey, Tunbridge Wells first ladies took on Marden Russets with a four one home win. Sevenoaks Ladies sevens, beat Maidstone two nil. In football, Tonbridge Angels, who celebrated their 74th birthday yesterday, lost by three goals to nil at home against Oxford City The Hawkes were the local stars this weekend, with a home win scoreline, of Hawkenbury five, FC Malgo from Sevenoaks, nil


In the TW Lotto, one lucky winner was picked at random and will receive £1,000. The winning numbers were 0 6 3 2 4 4, where there was one first prize of £25.
