Residents in parts of Tonbridge suffered low water pressure, or no water at all yesterday. This was due to a burst water main in Sovereign Way which was repaired by South East Water.


Children at Somerhill school in Tonbridge have been learning about the Festival of Diwali, as part of their studies into Hinduism.


November the fifth is firework day, with a display starting at 5:30 this evening. The Pembury Fireworks Display is at the Lower Green Recreation Ground.
Saturday sees several charity firework events across the area. In Sevenoaks, the Round Table display starts with a High Street torchlight procession from 6 pm tomorrow. In Tunbridge Wells, Dunorlan Park is the place to be from 5:30 on Saturday.


The admission window for primary and junior school applications opens today and closed in January. Applications can be made through the Kent County Council website.


The natural history group at Tonbridge School has been replacing old bird boxes on the school campus. The new ones are suitable for sparrows and nuthatches and have been made squirrel-proof.


In local sport and Tonbridge Angels has won an award for their printed match programme. The club was best in the National South area and 13th overall for all non-league clubs in England. Angels Chairman, Dave Netherstreet congratulated the writer, editors, and photographers for their work to bring supporters a fantastic programme for every 1st team home game.
