Penshurst Choral Society: Spring Concert

Penshurst Choral Society will be singing John Stainer's deeply moving retelling of The Crucifixion.  The story of the Passion and Crucifixion of Jesus is told through choruses, solos and congregational hymns crucial to the impact of the piece.  We will be sharing our love of music with the audience which sets this piece apart.  Stainer composed the piece in 1887 whilst an organist at St Pauls Cathedral dedicating it to his pupil and friend, William Hodge, organist at St Marylebone Church where it was premiered.
