Campaigning for National Highways and Kent County Council to end road-building (only attracts more cars) instead creating safe cycling and walking routes.

Will you join us for our mass ride along the A26 at 6.30pm on Friday 9th June 2023 - showing our community what the future of safer, healthier, cheaper and more planet-friendly travel could be here on our doorstep in Tunbridge Wells and Tonbridge.

We'll have two groups, one starting at Tonbridge station, the other at The Fiveways in Tunbridge Wells, that will converge at Southborough Common to unite for change!. Then we'll hear a quick update on the next stage of our campaign. The cycle and gathering will last about 90 minutes.

Mass cycles – the gathering of hundreds of cyclists all travelling together in a big block, will help our community, and most importantly our council, imagine what a new future could look like. They are now being carried our all across the UK.

With your support on the day, we will inspire new enthusiasm for a dedicated cycle pathway.

A 20mph speed limit combined with a dedicated cycleway along the wider sections of the A26 will:
• enable many of the 10,000 schoolchildren attending schools along the route to cycle to school – healthy, liberating for them and their parents, no more ‘school run’;
• enable people to get to Tonbridge or Tunbridge Wells town centres and stations in safety;
• reduce the need for private car journeys, so decongesting the road and making overall journey times quicker and more reliable;
• end the noise, fumes, pollution and danger of dense, fast-moving motor traffic;
• allow people along the route once again to breathe clean air;
• enable neighbours in the side-streets to chat while their children play in the streets.
